Kayla wanted to show her mom and dad how much she loved them today. Mike had to go in for her cares at 9am today because he had to work tonight. Dr was doing rounds and told Mike that they are going to wait another day before they take Kayla off the pressure oxygen. Kayla is getting 34cc's of breast milk and more caffeine today to keep up with her wonderful weight gain. Because of this Dr didn't want to also add on taking Kayla off of pressure. I appreciate that, Kayla just recently started taking her feeding in 45 minutes rather than 60 minutes which is when she has her desats the most, now that she is getting more milk I wouldn't want to push her to much either. So maybe tomorrow we will see, she is doing good and we want to keep her there. :) But as I mentioned earlier Mike held Kayla for her 9am feed and she stayed awake for him the whole time. 50 minutes of awake time, Mike said she keep looking at him like she was saying, "hey you're my dad!" Mike just loved that time, then when I had gone in for 6pm care Kayla nuzzled for about 15 minutes then stayed awake for me for about 20 minutes. It was so sweet to just watch her look around and listen to all her grunts and sounds. Kayla has gained weight in grams but still remains at 3lb 9oz, nurse thinks Kayla will probably skip 3lb 10oz and be at 11oz tomorrow instead. So again Kayla still has her desats, they are still getting better, we are at about 10 a day now which is really an improvement in these last couple of weeks. Over all good day, thank you Kayla for making our day so happy. :)
